Robert Pattinson (River) | 2010 | oil pastel on paper
This has turned out to be one of my favorite new pieces. Since I have been focusing on more 'bust' kind of portraits, it was refreshing to get a little distance on a subject :) I also think I like it because it captures the mussed-up, brooding quality of Mr. Pattinson in a more quiet manner than, say: "Hey, look, it's R-Patz!" -- (or whatever nomenclature the public refers to him by these days.) The indistinct quality was especially important to me since I personally don't have any fan-girl admiration for the
Twilight movies (in fact I run the opposite direction from any multiplex showing them) but I hope that all you 'Twihards' out there enjoy!
